How do I reinstall FotoFusion for the Mac?

Click here to download an uninstall tool which removes FotoFusion and all application settings.

If you receive the error: “Uninstall FotoFusion can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”, right click the Uninstall FotoFusion.app and click open.

Direct uninstaller links: OS X Lion/Mountain Lion (10.7/10.8) or later. OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) or earlier.

How do I change my email address/password?
Contact email and password

Log into LumaPix MyAccount to change your password and contact e-mail address. Your contact e-mail is used to receive the LumaPix newsletter, receipts for marketplace purchases or a password reminder.

User ID

Your LumaPix User ID cannot be changed. It is typically the e-mail address you used at time of purchase.

I cannot remember my password. How can I retrieve it?
Contact email and password

Go to LumaPix MyAccount and choose ‘Forgot your password’. Instructions to reset your password will be sent to your contact e-mail address.

What operating systems are supported?
FotoFusion Version 5+

Compatible with Windows 8, 7, XP or Vista and native support for Mac Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion.

FotoFusion Version 3+

Compatible with Windows 7,  XP, or Vista.

My Windows 7/Vista computer won’t launch FotoFusion – how do I fix it?
If you have installed FotoFusion on a Windows Vista or 7 machine, and it will not run after installation, do the following:

  1. Right-mouse select the desktop icon.
  2. Choose Properties.
  3. Choose the Compatibility tab.
  4. Turn on the RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR check box.
  5. Choose Apply/OK.
  6. Double-click on the desktop icon to run the software.
I get an error running FotoFusion on Windows 2000
If you get an error installing FotoFusion on Windows 2000, please follow these steps:

    1. Download GDI Plus from here.
    2. Extract ‘GDIplus.dll’ from the .zip archive and place it in your FotoFusion v4 installation directory.
    3. Please ensure you have Windows 200 Service Pack 4 from Microsoft installed.
I have a disk – how do I reinstall?
 Retail Box

Reinstall directly from the LumaPix website by clicking here. This will get you the latest build of the software, rather than needing to update immediately after reinstalling.

 SEI Package from QVC

Reinstall directly from your  original CD which contains extra graphic content not available elsewhere.

 David Ziser Bundle

Reinstall the software from the LumaPix website, but install the “extras” (templates, embellishments, mattes) afterwards from the bundle.

 FotoFusion Lite Scrapbook Bundle

Reinstall directly from your  original CD which contains extra graphic content not available elsewhere. This version of the software will allow you to print the bundled templates only.

How many times can I install the software?
FotoFusion

The software licenses are sold as “one user, one license” licenses. By installing and activating the software, you are agreeing to abide by the End User License Agreement (EULA) to follow this rule. INSTALLATION AND USE. You may install, use, access, display and run only one (1) copy of the SOFTWARE on the COMPUTER. That being said, we understand that individual users may have more than one computer – a desktop at work, a laptop at home, etc. A second installation is permissible providing that it is for the user’s personal convenience, and the software will not be run on both computers simultaneously.

YearbookFusion

A single YearbookFusion license can be installed on up to 40 computers – at school, at home, wherever the members of the yearbook committee will be working.

My copy of FotoFusion says “unregistered” but I own a license. What should I do?
Simply reactivate your software.

      1. Launch FotoFusion.
      2. Go to the menu and choose HELP, then Activate FotoFusion Online.
      3. Type your user id, which is normally your email address at the time of purchase.
      4. Version 4 & 5 users will have set a password when they first activated the software.
      5. If the details are correct, FotoFusion will relaunch, activated.
What is my user id / Activation code?
FotoFusion

Your user id is normally your email address at the time of purchase. Boxed versions come with an alphanumeric code inside the box.

YearbookFusion

Yearbook users were assigned a user id by their yearbook publishing company – usually the school name, an email address or a random code.

What is my password?
FotoFusion

The first person who activated the software set the password. We find that users tend to use their “master password”  – meaning the one you use repeatedly for low-security web site registrations, etc. If you have more than one commonly used password, try them both. We won’t lock you out for typos or bad attempts.

YearbookFusion

Yearbook accounts were normally activated by the yearbook manager or the school Network/IT person. Ask them for the password if you are on the Yearbook committee, or ask your Yearbook Publishing company to look it up if this info has been lost.

You can also ask for your password to be emailed to the address on file for your account. If you can’t receive email at that address, then contact us with your full name, user id, and other information about your account (possible password combos, address at the time of purchase, etc.).

I just upgraded to Version 5 – where did all my purchased graphics go?
Version 4 contains a Marketplace, where users can use credits to add templates and graphic embellishments to their collection of resources. The purchases were attached to your user id, which is usually your email address at the time of purchase. If you purchased a Version 5 upgrade with a different email address, your purchases and remaining credits will not show. They are associated to your Version 4 license.
Will projects made on older versions open in newer versions of FotoFusion?
FotoFusion testing always checks for “forwards compatibility”. Projects made in Version 3 should reopen in Version 4 & 5. Older files should reopen correctly in newer versions of the software. This includes projects made on a Windows machine, moved to Version 5 on a Mac.
Can I install my version on my new Mac?
FotoFusion Version 5+

Offers native support for Mac Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion.

FotoFusion Version 3+

BootCamp, Parallels or VMWare Fusion, and a copy of Windows are required to run FotoFusion on a Mac computer,

How do revert Presets and Editors to their default values?
Simply reset FotoFusion:

      1. Click on the HELP menu and choose ABOUT FOTOFUSION. Licensing information will appear.
      2. Hold the Shift key on your keyboard and click on the licensing window.
      3. Reply YES to the prompt.
      4. FotoFusion will shut down, and relaunch with all editors back to factory defaults.
How do I move a project to a new computer?
FotoFusion Version 4+

To archive, launch the project, then choose  from the File menu item ARCHIVE/RESTORE. You can archive for Public sharing (any online user), or privately for your user id only, or for one other specific user. This will create a .scrappackage file that includes all of the required parts for a specific project.

FotoFusion Version 3+

You can move the .collage file to the new computer, and the source images. Source images will need to be reconnected once you open the project on a new computer.

Which license type is right for me?
FotoFusion Enhanced

Enhanced is great for photography enthusiasts, used for any type of project layouts such as scrapbook pages, postcards, invitations, portrait layouts, contact sheets and much more. The projects are limited a single sheet and the output resolution is up to 13″ x “19″ @ 300 DPI.

FotoFusion Extreme

Extreme is perfect for Pro photographers, studios or anyone wanting to efficiently create professional multi-page photo albums and large format projects.

We recommend downloading a trial and playing with the version which feels best for you before purchasing.

What is included in my license?
FotoFusion Extreme

Extreme licenses can make multi-page albums and projects as large as your computer’s memory will allow. Multi-page will allow you to make and resize an entire album, and output it to file all at once (including pdf, psd). Extreme users have access to the largest available collection of graphic content, including everything in lower license types (however, no one license type has access to all graphic content in the Marketplace).

FotoFusion Enhanced

Enhanced licenses can make single sheet projects up to 13x19” in size, or render/print projects to a flattened file format of up to 3900×5700 pixels. Enhanced users have access to smaller collection of papers (backgrounds), frames, and templates than the Extreme package.

FotoFusion Scrapbook Essential (Version 4 only)

Scrapbook Essential users can make single sheet projects, print a 12x12’ on your local printer, or render to a flattened file format to 2000×2000 pixels. Essentials users have access to the smallest collection of papers (backgrounds), frames and templates. Note: Version 4 Scrapbook Essentials was discontinued on July 21, 2011 as a purchasable product.

YearbookFusion

YearbookFusion users may be limited to using their printing company’s predefined page sizes, or may be able to create custom size pages. An array of resources are available in the Create screen hovers (papers, frames, LP Art) and in the Gallery, under the LumaPix Clipart folder.  Catalogs of the Yearbook embellishment graphics are available on our website as downloadable PDFs.

Free graphic content is viewable directly in the software for all versions.

On how many computers can I install FotoFusion?

Where can I get a discount or coupon?
On occasion, particular professional associations or a media group may negotiate a coupon to purchase FotoFusion at a discount. The discount coupon is offered by invitation only to the group’s members. There are no special discounts for educational users, seniors or members of any particular groups.

Volume discounts are available for purchases of a block of 5+ licenses of Extreme. Please contact us at support@lumapix.com for inquiry.

Do I get a CD or DVD after I purchase online?
We do not provide a CD/DVD copy of the software.  The software is available as a download from our website. If you really want a backup copy, or need to transfer the software for an offline computer, then simply save the file you download off our website, and make your own disk, or save it to a memory stick.
How do I purchase a license for someone else as a gift?
We recommend that, if possible, purchase the gift license under a different contact email address with your name and billing address, so the charge will run through properly. Once the purchase has been made, contact us at support@lumapix.com to let us know that the license should be reassigned to the recipient of the gift. Provide the person’s name, email address, and if available, their address. We’ll generate a new account, and send an installation email directly to the gift’s recipient, if you like.
I just switched to Mac – do I have to buy again?
I bought a Version 4 license after July 21, 2011

You can upgrade to Version 5 at no extra cost.

Where can I buy YearbookFusion?
YearbookFusion is not sold to individuals or single schools. Licenses are sold in blocks of 10+ to book printing companies and photo studios, who allocate them to their clients. YearbookFusion is offered as a complete pipeline solution, providing predefined page sizes, permissions, and tools to allow the yearbook company and their clients to work together effectively.
What happened to Scrapbook Essentials?
Scrapbook Essentials’ limitations no longer serve the needs of the amateur home hobbyists, so we chose to retire the product and focus on the professional photography market.
What payment options are available?
FotoFusion licenses are run through a secure online vending service which offers a wide variety of payment options. By default, the Method of Payment on the purchase form is set to credit card, which is the quickest way to complete your transaction. PayPal is also offered. Wire transfer, local bank transfers, and other methods such as a cheque sent by mail can be selected.  These services can take significantly more time to complete, as your license will only be released when your payment is received.  LumaPix cannot issue a license in anticipation of payment if one of these methods is chosen.

Sorry – there are no installment payment plans available to purchase FotoFusion.

I have the trial, how do I get the real version?
The trial is a fully functioning copy of the software. You can run it in Enhanced or Extreme mode.  Simply activate the software to unlock your purchased license.
What version of the software do I own?
Your licensing information (Version, license level, and user id) is available on your currently installation of FotoFusion.

      1. Launch FotoFusion
      2. Click on Help (FotoFusion on the Mac)
      3. Choose “About FotoFusion”

Lost your installation and don’t remember? Send us an email and provide your full name and possible email addresses used at the time of purchase.

Are there discounts available to upgrade?
Existing FotoFusion license-holders can upgrade their software at a discount. Upgrading to a higher license type is available at roughly the difference in the cost between the two products. Upgrades to a newer version are usually priced at half the price of a new license, for the same license type.
What are my choices for upgrades?
FotoFusion Version 3 Standard/Pro/Studio

If you own one of theses versions of the software, you can upgrade to Version 5 Enhanced or Extreme.

FotoFusion Version 4 Scrapbook Essential/Enhanced/Extreme

If you own one of theses versions of the software, you can upgrade to Version V5 Enhanced or Extreme.

YearbookFusion

This version is not upgradeable as its license is sold on a yearly basis only.

FotoFusion Lite

This free limited-use version requires the purchase of a new license.

What is a subscription?
Subscriptions are purchased directly in FotoFusion for $15 USD/month for Version 4+. It temporarily upgrades your software to the next highest license type, and adds 20 credits/month to your marketplace account.
